A lot had changed since UPMC Health Plan created its first website in the early 2000s. The new site had to appeal to consumers in a way the original site never had to. Technology had changed. User expectations had heightened. And with the introduction of the Affordable Care Act, more people were buying their own insurance. Chemistry's first step in the project was extensive user interface research. How do visitors use the site? What are they looking for? How do we invite exploration and interaction? A detailed mapping process combined with user interviews and bold visual cues inspired a site design that gives people the information they need in a voice they trust.
In addition to advertising and digital design, Chemistry also creates the annual report for UPMC Insurance Services Division. The agency does all the writing and art direction, and in addition to the printed version created a digital web version featuring video interviews, roll over information, interactive maps and more.
