Following in the wake of the "craft beer" craze, two local entrepreneurs saw the potential of creating small batch spirits, specifically vodka. They approached Chemistry in need of a name, bottle design, brand personality and communication strategy to secure distribution. The agency recommended celebrating the unique, hand-crafted nature of the product, not only through advertising but with the very design of the bottle. Each one is wax dipped by hand and individually labeled. Magazine advertising and point-of-purchase materials helped establish a premium position based on authenticity. Today, Boyd& Blair Vodka enjoys distribution in five states, including top shelf prominence in the most upscale bars in New York City.
